Helena has spent the last 12 months as an ERCIM postdoctoral fellow in the centre. She has contributed to the Supple project as well as put in work in the General Interaction Models group. Louise Barkhuus is a visiting research scientist at the Mobile Life Centre. Her research focuses on social interaction through and around mobile and ubiquitous technologies, particular in relation to issues of privacy, friendship maintenance, location-reporting and game playing Her recent work includes studies of social media as facilitators of ad-hoc socializing and analyses of privacy issues within ubiquitous computing research.
Before coming to the Mobile Life Centre Louise Barkhuus was working as a research scientist at University of California, San Diego.
Louise Barkhuus gained her Ph.D from the IT University of Copenhagen in 2004; her dissertation focused on context-aware computing and its complications for implementation in a social world.
