Johanna Mercurio has studied Cognitive Science at Linköping University. She wrote her master thesis on the Affective Health system at Mobile Life Center in 2011. In her thesis she explored everyday use of a mobile application with biosensors for a longer period of time.

She has continued research on the Affective Health system to further understand how it could help users to monitor their bodily reactions and is exploring the possibility of sharing bodily data. She is also conducting research on a robot assistant placed in a work environment, as a part of the LIREC-project.
